Maxmara Style Watch

MaxMara
           - so much more than a little black dress....

So there I was wondering the streets of Naples, Florida on a hot summers day, staring in at MaxMara's latest collection of little black dresses, when it dawned on me. What else do I know about the brand? I picture absolutely tailored silhouettes, elegant shifts and a sprinkle of 60's charm, from a highly trimmed and measured entity. Well really, that isnt enough.

So what did I think on further inspection of the power house MaxMara?

Online presence
- Superior and coldly sophisticated. Shots I would be proud to say I had done, oh goodness yes, with dramatic lighting and confident model choices. A site that talks to me of logical sound thinking and well earned respectability. But judge for yourself: http://www.maxmara.com/en/Home-Page

Collection ranges
- Beautiful simply cut pieces - not complicated knits or patterns, or super multi-layers here -  just clean classic lines that, in their simplicity, seem to challenge and surprise.

But who is their true target? I have always associated the brand with an older population of consumers, but I wonder how young their skew truly goes?

Up on the latest
- From interesting articles, to reports on their latest moods and pallettes, a selection of information to search though and engage in. A beautiful site certainly to feel inspired by. It seems they do not keep secrets once the collections are out.

Behind the scenes juicy titbits & film footage to make your mouth water.
- Oh yes it is a thing of beauty. For me seeing the behind the scenes is just as relevant - it is the unguarded truth, of a moment in time, from a collection of people who are not so often unguarded. So well done I say! Show us these moments and let us fall in love with you.
- Plus footage for the collections that explains it all:

Colours that would shock your 60's loving parents!
- The catwalk collections show brave pieces and the mood boards suggest the same. Will I be seeing pieces like these in the windows of these deep south Floridian store windows, next time I am in town? I think not. But I would like to hope so anyway.

I will watch with interest, and with more of an understanding, as to what they are doing at MaxMara, or at least at the hard face and at the core of it.
